Gleason Pattern 1

This was defined by Gleason as a round nodule of tightly packed glands of equal size. It is almost impossible to find examples of tumors that resemble the pattern illustrated in the Gleason diagram. With today’s knowledge and access to immunohistochemistry, some of Gleason’s GP1 cases may not even have been considered cancers.
