Variants of Gleason Pattern 4 (part 4)

 

Glomeruloid glands

This was added to GP4 in the ISUP 2014 grading. This is an unusual pattern which is almost always combined with other variants of GP4. Cribriform tufts of cancer cells are protruding into glandular lumina, attached only to one side of the gland.

 

Glomeruloid bodies = tufts of cribriform structures protruding into the lumen (red arrows).
