Gleason Pattern 5

In this grade the cancer cells have almost entirely lost their ability to form lumina. There are several variants of GP5:

 

1. Solid strands of epithelium and single cells infiltrating the stroma

 

2. Solid sheets

 

3. Cytoplasmic vacuoles

 

4. Comedonecrosis
