Partial atrophy

 

Glands lined by cuboidal epithelium. Pale bland-looking nuclei that often reach the apical border. The glands often have an undulating contour and look “soft”, not rigid.

Some small glands may seem to infiltrate the stroma (arrow) and may even imitate single-cell invasion, but such glands are also pale with bland-looking pale nuclei. Look for nuclear and cytoplasmic similarity with architecturally benign glands nearby.
