Immunohistochemistry
Immunohistochemistry for basal cells is negative in cancer. It is important to have an internal positive control, i.e. benign glands with a positive stain. The glands that look benign morphologically must be positive and those that look malignant must be negative. The stain is used for confirmation of the morphological suspicion of cancer.
Cancer. H & E
