Nuclear atypia

Nuclear atypia of prostatic cancer is less severe than in many other cancers. In most prostate cancers there is at least some nuclear atypia but you may need to search for it at high magnification. The classical feature is prominent nucleoli but  these may be seen in only occasional nuclei. In cases with a minimal amount of cancer, nuclei atypia is very helpful for the diagnosis.
